6 Spring-Inspired Easter Cocktails For 2016
The Easter weekend has arrived and spring is officially here! It’s time once again to don your bonnet (with all the frills upon it) and go hoppin’ down the bunny trail because The Easter weekend has arrived and spring is officially here! While not normally known as a rip-roaring alcohol-filled holiday as the recently passed St. Patrick’s Day, Easter Sunday usually involves relatives and potentially lengthy church stays, so drinks are in order!
Rather than serve you up a gaggle of pastel, sugary, vomit-inducing, drinks — ala Sandra Lee — here’s a few spring-inspired Easter cocktails that won’t get you exiled by your cocktailian friends.
Easter Cocktails
Basil Smash

- 1.5 oz. Pisco Portón
- 0.75 oz. Fresh lemon juice
- 0.5 oz. simple syrup
- 0.5 oz. Elderflower Liqueur
- 3 leaves Fresh basil
- Basil leaf garnish
Build in a shaker by adding all ingredients except Portón. Muddle. Add Portón and ice. Shake vigorously then strain into a short glass over fresh ice. Garnish with a basil leaf.
Lavender Spritzer

- 2 oz. Casamigos Blanco Tequila
- 1.5 oz. Lavender Syrup
- .5 oz. Fresh Lemon Juice
- .5 oz. Grapefruit Juice
- 2 Dashes Lavender Bitters
- Top off with grapefruit soda water
Not-So-Secret-Garden

- 1 ½ parts Reyka Vodka
- ¾ part Elderflower Liqueur
- ½ part simple syrup (1:1)
- ½ part fresh lemon juice
- 2-4 basil leaves
- Top with grapefruit soda
Combine all ingredients into cocktail shaker. Shake and serve in a Collins glass and garnish with a sprig of basil.
Siam Daiquiri
The Siam Daiquiri is critically-acclaimed Chef Ari Taymor’s take on his favorite rum cocktail, with a personal touch of Thai aromatics, inspiration stemming from his hometown of Los Angeles and named after its Thai influences. The cocktail infuses BACARDI Gran Reserva Maestro de Ron, a super-premium white rum, Kaffir lime juice and aromatic simple syrup for a refreshing cocktail that will have you quickly forgetting about any lingering winter weather.

- 1 part BACARDÍ Gran Reserva Maestro de Ron
- ½ part Kaffir Lime Juice
- 1 tsp Aromatic simple syrup*
Mix ingredients with ice in a cocktail shaker, shake vigorously and serve in a chilled coupe.
*Aromatic Simple Syrup
- 1 cup water
- 12 Thai basil leaves
- 3 Coriander seeds
- ¼ Sliced Jalapeño
- 2 Kaffir Lime Leaves (if available)
- 1 cup Sugar
Bring to a boil, steep 15 minutes, strain and cool.
Silver Lining

- 1 ½ parts Reyka Vodka
- ¾ parts Drambuie
- ½ parts lemon juice
- 1½ parts pineapple juice
- 2 parts ginger beer
Shake all ingredients. Pour over ice in a mule cup or rocks glass. Garnish with a pineapple slice.
Spring Devotion Margarita Bowl

- 1 oz Casamigos Tequila
- 2 oz Blood Orange Devotion Vodka
- 2o z Wild Cherry Devotion Vodka
- 7 oz Bud Light Lime
- 7 oz Champagne
- 2 oz Grenadine
- Slices of Orange-Lemon and Lime
- Fresh Mint Leaves
- Maraschino Cherry
Mix ingredients and chill in the fridge. Garnish and serve over ice.
